I received an email with a subject line that read “Eenie Weenie Bikini Contest.” Two thoughts immediately went through my mind. 1) I thought my friend’s email account got hacked. 2) Crap. Someone went far back into my Facebook profile and found some questionable photos.
Luckily, it was something different. Behind door number 3 was the formal invitation from Copper Mountain to be a judge at the resort’s 3rd annual Eenie Weenie Bikini Contest.
Ski resorts celebrate Easter in a big way. Thousands of pastel colored eggs filled with candy litter the snow, parking lots, base lodges, rental shops, food courts… And the kids love it. Sometimes even adults get in on the action (for a motivation greater than jelly beans, of course). If you find the golden egg at Mount Snow, you’ll get a free season pass.
But at Copper Mountain and Breckenridge, long gone are the days when kids actually had to hunt for eggs during an Easter Egg Hunt. Now, it’s basically a group clean up effort. They kind of just… pick them up… and try not to sprain their ankle in the process. Welp, it’s only a matter of time before these kids learn hunting for jobs is a little trickier. 😉
It’s that time of year again. The leaves are popping with color and the first signs of winter add to the ambiance making Facebook a much prettier place. Unable to contain my excitement, I put together this piece for The Weather Channel.
